Symptoms

(PROTON_NO_ESYNC is required otherwise game will freeze on a black screen at boot.)

Game crashes if opening logos/cutscene are skipped. The only way to reliably get past them and to the title screen is to mash spacebar as soon as the game boots and hope you're quick enough to skip them before they start playing, or to let them play out completely, which takes 2-3 minutes. Attempting to skip them any time after they begin to play results in a crash.

(Logos/cutscene are WMV and thus appear as test patterns, as expected with vanilla Proton. Using alternate Proton for proper video playback results in working videos but is otherwise unchanged regarding crashes upon skipping.)
