I've now tried uninstalling then reinstalling the game, running through all available versions of proton, and a different machine. exact same error message occurs.

any updates? power & revolution 2019 edition also doesn't work

I want to add that I get the Error 102 ''The activation is failed (-3)'' window when I start the game and dismiss the window with the newsletter. I tried reaching to the steam support but they told me i should report it here.

This was only a license issue. Nothing to do with proton! After the devs resetted the license keys it worked.

Now to make it run: I used the instructions on ProtonDB. In order to make the game work you need delete the two intro videos eversim.avi and intro.avi in the gamesfiles under /vid. And then change to Proton 5.0-10
It seems to work only with this version of proton atleast for me. Then if you start the game it will prompt you with an error: XVID codecs are not installed and a notice where you can get these codecs and the game might not work. Just klick ok and then the game starts. The loading screen will freeze.

From that point just hit ALT+TAB every time when the game freezes in the loading screen or in game! could be many times. Also important to note i have the 2019 Edition!
