This game crashes on launch with both proton 3.7-3 and 3.7-4 Beta . Interestingly the game launches and appears to play fine if I cd into the bin directory and run wine64 Demigod.exe.

I am running this version of wine: wine-staging-pba-git 3.13.r14.g12d22ddf+wine.3.13.r0.g25cc380b8e+pba.3.13.r68.68129ed-1

Under Arch Linux. It should be noted that in the past Demigod has had a platinum rating under wine, though the results are old

I made note of these lines

But there are 100+ instances of the word "cannot open".

I tried with the 3.7-5 version of proton, I don't CTD, it instead just creates a black screen and appears to do nothing. During this time the mouse cursor disappears

The game loads, and cursor shows with music, however the screen is black and menu doesnt display.

I had to edit the game.prefs file for the monitor resolution but other than that it's running fine on Proton 4.11-9, I just got brutalised in my first match against an easy AI, it's not very forgiving. lol

Hello, I'm curious if anyone has been able to get the game installed after the most recent update from Stardock? According to this article on Stardock's website there was an update in June of 2024 which updated how Activation Keys work: Stardock support site
When trying to get the game to run in Proton I could not get past the popup window which asked for my Stardock account. I would input my (legit!) email and password, but it could not proceed.

Edit: The exact error from the Stardock launcher/activator is: The serial number you have entered is invalid for 'Demigod'. Please check the serial and try again.
