Symptoms

In-game monitors only show static image (see screenshot), they should play videos. This also applies to in-game video solutions of the puzzles, which makes the game harder as you can't watch the solution videos.

Hello @Trombach, can you test if setting the game's launch options to WINE_DO_NOT_CREATE_DXGI_DEVICE_MANAGER=1 %command% has an effect?

Hi @kisak-valve, that absolutely did fix it! Thanks so much. Will this fix be implemented in Proton Experimental anytime soon?

@Trombach Part of the issue you mentioned should be fixed in current experimental. Could you try removing the launch option and seeing if the vertical lines and funky colors are still present in the placeholder image? Unfortunately the videos themselves might not be playable yet, but the test pattern should be primary colors rather than the funky one in your screenshot.

@alasky17 Interestingly enough, the issue seems to be completely fixed now? I removed the launch option, restarted steam and now the solution videos actually play as they should. No strange pattern or primary colour at all. I guess that's good

@Trombach Awesome :) That makes perfect sense to me actually - it just means the actual transcoded videos finally got uploaded so you aren't getting the placeholders anymore.

@alasky17 Awesome, thanks for the quick fix!
