@Cuddlypuff - I see that you are using Ubuntu 16.04. Have you also tried this in 18.04 or newer and if so, does the problem persist?
@btegs not yet - i've been holding off upgrading until I can set some time aside to tinker with my PC, as I assume there'll be some kinks to iron out... I'll update here once I eventually get to it
