The First Descendant Steam Beta
I tried analyzing the proton log, I stumbled across multiple "EXCEPTION_FLT_DIVIDE_BY_ZERO" errors - not sure how that relates to this problem tho.
I also noticed that there is this "uxtheme.dll" which is repeatedly loaded and unloaded (line 759 - 762, 1131 - 1133, 1257 - 1258), it's also one of the last DLLs to be referenced in log before crashing. I tried finding a replacement via protonfixes to install something into the prefix, but couldn't find anything that sounded like that DLL.

the issue is still present on the second beta that they are doing.
if anyone doesn't know the devs did a qna where they answered about steam deck and they said that they have no plans right now but will reevaluate there decision for bringing it to steamdeck. so hopefully they bring proton support when the game gets fully released

I'm having a similar issue with the game not launching, but throwing a different error (screenshot below). The logs are showing the same "EXCEPTION_FLT_DIVIDE_BY_ZERO" on lines 1204 and 1636 in the log I'll link below.
Even though I know that DX12 is supported on my PC, as I play Heldivers with DX12.

Have you tried deleting the wine prefix that proton created And then verified just in case?
On my rx 6700 i played it a couple hours ago under experimental(bleeding edge)
We should also create a new issue as this is the beta issue page not the launched version issue page
I did delete the wine prefix between each version of Proton that I attempted. I got the same error every time.
