This is a known issue, specific to ANV ( Intel Vulkan driver )

You can try workaround mentioned here:

Hello, I have the same issue. I tried with the opengl workaround but didn't work for me. Here is my configuration:

lspci | grep VGA

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Thames [Radeon HD 7500M/7600M Series]

OS: debian testing
Game version -
dumps.zip
Linux Beta version

Pay attention even if i set the VK_ICD_FILENAMES=NONE or add the line renderer: "opengl" into ~/.local/share/Terrible Toybox/Return to Monkey Island/Prefs.json

from the Log.txt it says that is using Vulkan render:

[10/31/22 11:03:03] GGGraphics: Selecting Vulkan renderer [10/31/22 11:03:03] Version 0.1 build 537707 (Linux)

Hello @tonicose, it looks like you have an Ivybridge generation Intel graphics chipset and a Terascale 2 generation ATi/AMD secondary GPU. The video drivers for Ivybridge provides an incomplete implementation of Vulkan, and there is no Vulkan support with Terascale GPUs. Unfortunately, this makes your system unsupportable by Proton in general.

you can try PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
it wont use dxvk, vkd3d, and will instead use wine's opengl renderer

proton 5.0 should use an earlier version of dxvk which supports vulkan1.1
newer versions of proton require support for newer vulkan (1.2, 1.3)
