Hello @srsgores, in general, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, and usually I'd transfer this issue report to #74. However, [...]/Installed Games and Applications/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/[...] is a fairly strong hint that you're sharing a Steam library folder with a Windows install, and it's a likely assumption that it's on an NTFS formatted partition.

Sharing Steam libraries between OSes is not supported and can cause undefined behavior. (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/blob/master/RelNotes.md#installation)

Having said that, the header only Proton log hints that there's an issue with Proton's python script before the actual game has a chance to run. You could completely close Steam, then run steam-runtime from a terminal and see if there's a better hint there, but I expect that it'll match up to one of the existing NTFS issue reports.

You could give some of the suggestions in https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/wiki/Using-a-NTFS-disk-with-Linux-and-Windows a try, but the better recommendation is to use a linux native filesystem with Proton.
