This is blocked by C++/CLI incompatibility and requires either using the .NET CLR or running the game through XnaToFna; wine-mono won't resolve this one straight away.
@flibitijibibo do you know if there's a tutorial on how to do what you said? I'd like to try to make it work
Update: still not running with Proton 4.2-3. Game starts, but is stuck on what seems a loading screen
Run this in the game directory and try one more time:

The game definitely uses WMA/WMV (more than I've ever seen in my life) but I think the hang in question is actually the splash window. After a while all activity stops, with no outstanding Exceptions in the log.
Did the conversion, then started the game. Its stuck the same, I had to kill it after a bit of inactivity.
Here's my steam log:

Still not working with Proton 4.11-1: game is stuck at a loading screen
Posting to confirm this is still not working as of Proton 7.0
The game itself is running fine with proton 9.0-2 for me but the cutscenes aren't working. Instead I just see the TV test image proton shows when it can't play videos.

Game installs fine, but instantly crashes on start. It seems to use .NET 4.0 and XNA 4.0.
No messages were print on screen.
Using Proton 3.7-3.

Note: I had to use inxi to get system specs because the Steam client don't let me copy the displayed text of the system info tool window.
