Game crashes with XACT error. I tried installing xact with winetricks, but that didn't help. I also tried noesync

This was with Proton 3.7.4. With 3.7.3 it just failed without error messages.

@cjwijtmans I don't see why you referenced it. "Installing XACT by default" doesn't help. As I said, I tried installing xact.

First of all, the popups appear in reversed order in comparison to issue description. The problem is XACT file. Second, this is most probably due to @nstgc having installed both the game and dlc in somewhat wrong order. I had the same issue and fixed it by removing the games, and then installing in a proper order, credit goes to Steam user Dadelus (steam comment). No manual xact installations were necessary for Proton on my machine

So I think it is safe to maybe reopen and approve #1469 , as this seems to be a problem of game structure in a way it installs both games in same directory, and not of the Proton.
@nstgc , please try and write back for maintainers to have confirmation.

What do you mean I installed things in the wrong order? I didn't install the DLC at all. I'll see about testing it sometime this week. If not today then probably Friday.

Sorry for the late reply. I just tried again with JUST the base game (just like before) and the latest beta (3.16-4). Drakensang: River of Time is still completely borked. Same error message.

It works for fine for me using Proton 7.0. Would you mind to check if this problem is still present for you?
