There is no sound on debian sid with pulseaudio on a network setup. By network setup i mean on the client side we only set the default-server variable in /etc/pulse/client.conf.
I tested it on deep rock galactic and baba is you, and neither had any sound.
Here is the log file.

This problem also happens with the latest Proton: I had no sound in Trackmania 2020.
The problem appeared to be the packaged OpenAL64_bundled.dll file. The fix in my case was to download the latest OpenAL-soft-1.25.1-bin.zip Win64 library, extracting the file, and moving/renaming openal-soft-1.25.1-bin/bin/Win64/soft_oal.dll to ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Trackmania/OpenAL64_bundled.dll.

Perhaps a similar fix can be found in your case.

I wonder why the problem as of today hasn't been fixed yet. Is there a specific reason (security? stability?). I have 0 problems with this fix.

@Excentertex for what is worth, audio is working fine on my end without replacing anything manually. It's unclear whether you mean proton 10 or experimental by latest proton, but I tried both (and proton 9) and it was fine on my end with all of them. I also tried scanning for previous reports of the game and didn't see anything regarding having no audio, so it's likely your audio setup is a significant factor on the issue occurring.
