Running the game with Proton 7.0-6 says it's installing Ubisoft Connect during first time setup, and the game launches after that. With Proton Experimental, I didn't notice that step, I'm guessing it failed immediately so I didn't notice it. Seems to run perfectly fine on Proton 7.0-6.
The game wont start with the following error message
Running on Arch with kernel 6.3 and AMDGPU
Tried several Proton versions:
Proton GE 8.3
Proton 8.0
Hello @fuhu83, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.) Also, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

Note I also had to set net.ipv4.tcp_mtu_probing=1 to get this far.
Thanks, your system is configured to use 32 bit AMDVLK and 64 bit mesa/RADV. Can you test how the game behaves with the system configured to only use mesa/RADV or AMDVLK?

Frankly I would need some instructions for how to do so.
I am simply running steam on a vanilla arch system without any specific configuration or launch options.
I guess the basic way to do that is to install the lib32-vulkan-radeon system package, then uninstall lib32-amdvlk. Alternatively, install the amdvlk package, then uninstall the vulkan-radeon package.

Both options worked, thanks. I will add a note to the arch wiki about not mixing these two packages.
Far Cry 6 freeze after 20-30min (co-op)
Issue transferred from https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/6787.
@ungutknut posted on 2023-05-19T11:29:58:
Game freezes after 20-30 minutes after launch. This seems to be a known issue (memory leak caused by ubisoft connect overlay) and the recommended remedy for it is to disable the ubisoft connect overlay in the ubisoft desktop app menu. This works ok in single player mode but as soon as I join a co-op session (either via overlay or from the ubisoft desktop app) the same crashes start to happen again.
Anyone else have an issue with cut-scenes rendering at sub-10 fps?
Got a similar crash as fuhu83, but during gameplay and on a different line: 664. That line is currently vkCreateSwapchainKHR.
The crash is 100% repeatable; it happens when I press "Talk" for El Tigre doing pull ups.
I have a proton log if anyone's interested. Using Proton Experimental (which is currently the only version that Ubisoft Connect actually starts with).
