protontricks > select the game > "select the default wineprefix" > "Install a Windows DLL or component" > select physx and click OK
might get a window like this one, its just a warning, click OK an be patient since the download might be slow and you don't get a progress bar:
after a while, you'll get a physx install window, continue as usual and install it:
Then just exit protontricks (close or click Cancel until you exit). With Physx installed, that version of the game runs great!
Just to note: The other 2010 edition (24980) works OK and doesn't need this protontrick.
- experimental doesn't work... EA launcher shows, then gets stuck forever
- the workaround in the previous post doesn't work either... the PhysX installer never shows up (the file is downloaded successfully, 25.9 MB)
- also tried 24980... which does even explicitly complain about missing physx, so what the previous post claims seems to be incorrect
- experimental does work with 2362420 and the EA launcher at time of writing
- 24980 also works with experimental and does not need any protontricks changes due to physx
so my question is other than the EA app integration, what is the difference in installation between 2362420 and 24980, additionally, the installation for Mass Effect 3 (1238020) has the physx installation integrated.
