I have not tried running this game on the officially supported operating systems (Windows 8 and 10) because they are not installed on my computer, so admittedly I am only assuming that the missing effect is the result of running the game with Proton, and not due to something like my GPU being old. Test results from anyone else who has this game would be helpful, although I realize it's extremely obscure. Frankly, the only reason I'm reporting this is that the apparent loss of the dithering effect is... interesting. I can only wonder if the same thing occurs in any other games. I know there are other games that utilize a similar graphical effect, but I don't think any other such games are in my library.

Reproduction

Launch the game and continue past the main menu. (The dithering effect does seem to be present in the main menu's background, but not in the actual game.)

Nothing extracted yet.
