@Diggbyte The update was screwed the game, in Windows there is a temporary solution as I show it in the image, but I tried to do it with Protontricks, and I have not had luck, I have already installed calibri, corefonts, gdiplus and I have not managed to make it work.

Recently Square Enix released an update that many users have problems with the fonts, especially because position font problem, but in this case it is not only that position problem in the options box, but it also shows square figures, I have installed Calibri, Corefonts and Gdiplus with Protontricks, and I have not made it work, I leave the link of an image of a comment that has the same problem.

I have found a temporary solution in Windows that a user managed to make, but in Wine I have done it as the image and I can't make it work, or in Wine does it work different FontReplacement?

@kisak-valve @Diggbyte i have found a termporal fix.

To fix fonts, you need protontricks and run:
1 - protontricks 239120 gdiplus corefonts calibri
2 - protontricks 239120 regedit
go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes and now, create 2 strings values:
1 - "MS Shell Dlg" with value "Calibri"
2 - "MS Shell Dlg 2" with value "Calibri"

and it's all , play and enjoy

I've tried the commands you wrote. I've been able to do almost everything except the first one.

I get this error:

@iWeaker4you i followed your instructions. the result isn't much better for me (Ubuntu 18.04 + nvidia, but is at least readable...)

@adrianlshaw Sorry, I need to mention that calibri should also be installed through Protontricks as well.

There was a small patch downloaded on March 25th. I only did a 5 minute test, but the fonts look fine now without any workarounds.

The game for me sometimes doesn't have ambient music in some places and differ between game runs.
