Symptoms

Starting with Proton 8.0-3/ Experimental Echo crashes in "Gaming Mode".
Then running Echo in "Desktop Mode" will work fine.
If I want to run Echo in "Gaming Mode",
I have to force the Proton version to be Proton 7.0-6 in order to run the game properly.

Reproduction

  1. Start Run Echo Game
  2. Wait for the black screen for a while..
  3. The game crashes right after and goes back to Steam Deck's Gaming mode!

Do you still have this issue? I tried with proton 8.0-5, 9.0-4 and experimental and the game launched without crashing on game mode. This with steamos stable 3.6.20 and steam client stable

Ah, I forgot to report back here - since the Proton update released on 2023/10/06, the game now runs normally even on the default Proton 9.0-4. 👌
