Symptoms

Water rendering with graphical errors, instead of one continuous surface with wave pattern - the water is divided like a chessboard in square segments that are rendered as intended with the zones between squares rendered "sideways" see attached screenshot

Reproduction

Just launch the game with any proton version, from 1.0 to experimental or GE proton and, skip intro, fly towards water to see what I mean.

@omikron24 Hi there. Could you try giving PROTON_DXVK_D3D8=1 %command% as a launch option a shot and see how that looks?

Hello, I tried it and it looks the same via latest Proton Experimental, Proton 9.03 and GE-Proton 9-16. Same water rendering issue.
I didn't see any changes in any other aspect of rendering of the game as if the %command% wasn't applied as a launch option.

Update: I also tried "-dxlevel 80" and your command, both at the same time and separately - no changes, then I rebooted the device, after which I left only the "PROTON_DXVK_D3D8=1 %command%", now it makes the game not to launch
