Symptoms and Reproduction

When launching the application in Steam using Proton Experimental, the game manages to proceed up to the loading screen and then crashes. This also happens using Proton Experimental (Bleeding Edge).

Some users have reported per this Reddit post that this previously non-functional game (due to EAC) is now playable via Proton Experimental.

I first launched the game and allowed Steam to install Proton Experimental. After the launcher, the game would go to the loading screen and then crash (see image below)

I then cleared out the Proton prefix for the game, switched over to Proton Experimental (Bleeding Edge), and reinstalled the game with similar results.
