Symptoms

I am writing to report graphical issues that I have encountered while playing WWE 2K24 40 Years of Wrestlemania on Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS using Proton 8 and 9 (Beta) compatibility layers. These graphical issues were absent in WWE 2K23 with Proton 8 etc., unlike the current experience.

During CAW entrances, the eyes of created wrestlers exhibit a glowing effect, which seems unintended and disrupts the overall visual experience. This issue is noticeable exclusively during entrance sequences. Also, smoke and special entrance effects produce strange rainbow-colored graphic glitches and anomalies, particularly during character entrances.

I have conducted tests with various Proton versions, including Proton 8, Proton 9 (Beta), Proton Experimental, and Proton Fixes. Unfortunately, none of the aforementioned compatibility layers have resolved the reported issues.

Reproduction

1. Launch the game on a Linux operating system using Proton 8, 9 (Beta), Proton Experimental, or Proton Fixes compatibility layers.
2. Create a wrestler.
3. Click on "Play," enable entrances, and select both the CAW and any opponent with special effects entrance, for example, Robert Roode.
4. Observe the graphical issues during the entrance sequences.
