Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

On the deck, none of the glyps that Magicka 2 is supposed to pull from Steam work. Here's a couple of example images

On the other hand if I use a Steam Controller, the glyphs show up:

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open Magicka 2 on the Deck

Result:

None of the glyphs show up properly

Expected:

Correct glyphs based on the ones set in Steam Input should be shown

Hello @Managor, the Steam Deck verification entry makes this game default to Proton on the Steam Deck, and we're tracking issues with games run with Proton in the Proton issue tracker, so I've transferred this issue report to that issue tracker. It looks like this is not a recent issue or a regression based on the non_deck_display_glyphs note in the 2022 Steam Deck verification entry.

I feel like this might be a more widespread issue than just Magicka 2 and extends to other native Steam Input games. Defender's Quest also suffers from all of the input glyphs being black circles:

Judging by the screenshots on the official Steam Input documentation here, its dev is the one who wrote the documentation. If someone as deeply invested as them is doesn't show glyphs correctly, I feel like the issue is with Steam Input as a whole

Looking at the preliminary details, the Steam Deck verification entry for that game has it configured to use the Linux native variant, which makes it a better testcase for what you're looking for, but regardless, it needs to be evaluated on a per-game basis.

Please open a separate issue report focusing on that game.

On the steam-for-linux tracker?

For that game, yes, it makes sense.

As was mentioned here:

steam forum

There is a custom Steam Deck layout called 'Steam Deck icon fix with grips' by user Pineappler that works flawlessly.

Nothing extracted yet.
