Symptoms

Use of Proton 9.x and newer introduces an issue where every time a loading zone, dialogue, menu, or cutscene is encountered, the mouse cursor will snap to the center of the screen. This is incredibly distracting when playing with a controller, as most people will be doing with this game as the keyboard and mouse controls aren't the best, and will almost definitely be the case when playing on a Steam Deck

This issue does not occur on Proton 8.x. Currently, the recommended Proton version on the Steam Deck is Proton Experimental. The recommended Proton version should be updated to correct for this issue.

Reproduction

1. Start the game
2. Enter any cutscene, menu, dialogue or loading screen
3. Observe the issue occurring
