Symptoms

When I'm playing the game, it crashes notably when I tried to recruit certain characters. The characters in question are Momo and Selbineth. I've tried at least 5 times and the result is still the same

Reproduction

  1. Find Momo in Hishahn or Selbineth in HQ's Mystery Room
  2. Do their quest
  3. The game will crash along the way

after a bit of tinkering, this could be an issue with the kernel rather than proton itself. the problem disappear when I downgrade the kernel into 6.8.8-arch1-1. But I can't pinpoint what's wrong with that particular version of the kernel.

Hello @zephyroths, https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/3343 is worth a read.

I can't even start the game in GE 9-9, it gives the loading box with the logo, and exit code 0s after. Steam Information: https://pastebin.com/BYxjRhUB

Here's the loading dialogue box I mentioned, I ran it via Lutris (Which uses whatever Steam uses) to show the log:

Also happens on the latest normal Proton, and a video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyslyGdW7NA

Edit: Looks like I just needed the proprietary nvidia drivers. Since vulkan generation wouldn't work on the open source ones.
