Although it is true that it is a mod and is not on Steam, I would think it would be great if you could run it from Steam with Proton.

Currently you have to use protontricks/winetricks?

Would it be possible to use only proton?

Does this mean that in the next updates proton will have this definition (atan2)? Is it possible that with this function the game will work?

At some point Proton devs will pull in a newer vkd3d (not to be confused with vkd3d-proton) from upstream and you'll want to re-evaluate the game after that happens.
