@ffrasisti I was only able to crash once, close to the island shield button before it got repaired, after that I've gotten to black isle several times by starting over, but I haven't managed to get the game to crash again. If you can, attach logs where the game crashed. I'm also curious to know in what parts you've seen the game crash.
Ive seen crashed during black island almost exclusively but one later in the pub. I went to the room where you get a pearl by snooping the code from the Shark's table and it crashed there
The game got an update mentioning stability improvements, I played for 3 hours and couldn't crash the game. If anyone is still having issues after the update, please say so.
Ubisoft Connect fails to load in game mode on Steam Deck causing the entire system to crash and restart. In desktop mode this is not an issue and the game loads normally as expected.

@Mophead2K what Proton version are you running? Have you tried Experimental or Experimental Bleeding Edge?
@Mophead2K working fine on my end with steamos stable 3.8.16, proton 10 (default for this game) and experimental. Give more info about your setup, bring proton logs (change launch parameters to PROTON_LOG=1 %command% and look for the log in your home folder called steam-2556990.log), and consider wiping the game's prefix, but make sure you have save files stored online, this game doesn't use steam cloud

@simifor how do you determine the default Proton version per game? Isn't it just a user setting in Steam settings > Default compatibility?
@Hoff16 depends on the device more than anything, deck usually has a default proton version, when you are in game's library page you can go to the "game info" tab, or the circled "i" if you aren't in big picture mode, and it will say what proton version is selected and by whom (if you are overriding it in the properties, that's what will appear). On desktop most games will default to what you have set as your default on steam, but sometimes you'll see a game that gets a default proton version from the client

System Information
I confirm:
Symptoms
Game randomly blackscreens and crashes
Sometimes it happens after long periods, others its more frequent. One time it crashed while the deck was idle since i was making coffee and as i came back to my couch i saw it crash and close.
Reproduction
Play the game on Steam Deck and wait for the random crash to happen. Could take 2 hours, could be 20 minutes. Theres unfortunately no connecting thread I can think of. Would a Log be useful if the crash takes long to happen?
