Symptoms

Game crashed with “Misuse detected. Contact support 1-1002" in main menu after the game update from 07/18/2024

Before the game update dated July 18, 2024, everything was playing fine, if you use not GE-Proton, but the one supplied on steam, then some video files in the game looked like a tuning table, everything else worked fine

There is a suspicion that the issue is with the nProtect GameGuard anti-cheat program that runs with the game.

I wrote to the game support service on July 18, 2024, but there is no result yet.
I wrote to steam support, their answer "Please report any bugs related to this feature to our Proton Github database (you must create a GitHub account to do so). Valve developers review this database regularly."

This might hopefully work again with the just updated Proton Experimental ([bleeding-edge] branch). To try this, Proton Experimental should be selected as a Compatibility tool for the game and bleeding-edge branch should be selected in Proton Experimental tool's properties in Betas tab. I could load to server, select a character and get in game but this wasn't tested any further, I can't be sure if anticheat is fully happy now.
