First, thank you for Steam Play!

Angels Fall First has always worked in Wine for me going back quite a ways with literally no difficulty, so I was surprised that Steam Play couldn't launch it. My last attempt it wanted to load .Net, which I've never seen for this title before, and didn't think it used. Just FYI.

Hello @Iiari, please copy your system information from steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report. Additionally, please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the game's launch options and drag and drop the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log into the comment box.

Sorry for the delay, but I think I got it. The AFF failure log is followed by my system info. Thanks!!

Per a dev for the game, "What installs the redistributable packages is Steam, not the game itself." It shouldn't be loading dot net. They advised me to delete the contents of the Redist folder, and it indeed no longer tries to install dot net, but it still isn't working either. I was able to get it to work by following these instructions: https://www.reddit.com/r/wine_gaming/comments/8r6low/guide_how_to_install_net_45_on_64bit_prefixes/

Performance isn't too good, getting around 30-40 fps with the default settings (most of the post-processing on with 3 detail). Going to try messing around with some of the settings.

I was able to get it to work that way. Hopefully, dotnet fixes will be integrated into Proton at some point. AFF apparently (per devs) mostly draws on CPU, not GPU, which is why FPS seems pretty poor. They should have a DX11 release in the future, which (in theory) should allow DXVK to put graphics instruction through to the GPU and maybe improve our FPS? Still love this game something fierce though...

This works in wine-mono, as seems to be the pattern for 64-bit Unreal Engine 3 games.

@Iiari the game starts for me with 4.11-2, without installing any additional packages manually. Please retest.
