Symptoms

The issue with the game sound effects. As reported on protondb the sound effects stops playing after a few of them played until entering a new room and then it repeats again. Also it affects even the main menu because when you navigate it, it plays sound effects. The problem is old but because there are no reports here I will create one.

Reproduction

Just walk back and forth. You will notice that the footsteps sound is gone but the music still plays. When entering a new room, the sound effects are back but after moving for some time the sound effects are gone again.
