Symptoms

Currently in Octopath Traveller II, having the game in full screen mode and loading it up with current Proton versions 8, 9 & Experimental gives this squished image:

Forcing Proton 7.0-6 does revert the game to proper screen rendering:

Reproduction

I tested with both the steam beta client and normal current non beta version on the steam deck. Alongside forcing proton compatibility 9, 8 & Experimental. All of them had this squished image bug. Playing the game in borderless window does fix the stretching issue on these proton versions.

Seems the latest steam client update has fixed this issue on the mentioned versions of proton
