Symptoms

The DLC itself launches and you can navigate it and interact it. Even multiplayer 3D environment works (with some windowing issues). However in all cases when the DLC has to launch the main game omsi.exe nothing happens

This is not system related issue (tested over multiple computers and multiple distros over the past 3 years, all behaved the same).

Reproduction

1. You need to have both OMSI 2 (252530) and this DLC (636630) installed.
2. Upon launching the game, from Steam prompt select Play Bus Company Simulator
3. It will throw missing java error (ignore that, don't click it) - seems that it actually works
4. Upon launching, the first time it will ask you to login and set your game path, I set my path to:
   Z:\home\kert\.steam\steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2\ because that's the only way I could locate the game exe
5. Once everything is done, click Singleplayer
6. Click Free play
7. Choose Grundorf map (left column)
8. Choose any installed bus (middle column and right column)
9. Click Next
10. Choose random trip (random options in line, circulation, tour)
11. Click next
12. Click next
13. It's now at the stage where it should launch the main exe (which we set in step 4), nothing happens
