Hello @s1ks0, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/2704#issuecomment-2762145355.

Symptoms
I can't play cs 2 normally. When I try to launch the game through proton, the game gives an error, I quote:
"Some of your game files are unsigned, or their signatures are invalid. You are not allowed to join VAC-protected servers. Please check the game launch parameters and the integrity of the game files, and then try again."
Checking the launch parameters and the integrity of the game files did not help. Everything is normal.
It would be logical to launch the game natively, but then a problem with the mouse appears, when I try to play in a resolution of 4:3, the horizontal axis of the mouse does not work correctly, this is expressed by the fact that if I slowly move the mouse, the movements are simply not displayed on the screen, although everything is normal with the horizontal axis. There is no such problem if I play in the native resolution of the monitor (1920x1080). but specifically here the problem with optimization overtakes, I do not have the most powerful but also the weakest hardware (geforce 4060 & core i5 12400F) on medium and high settings drops to 60 fps. while when running through proton 240 frames are stable.
I use: arch linux, gnome wayland
