Steamdeck (OLED), but also the original LCD version
Proton version: 9.0.3 (and older versions down to 6x)
Launched through steam with no modifications or changes, on a brand new install
I confirm:
[X] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
[X] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.
Symptoms
When launching the game with the default proton version (9.0.3 right now), after a few minutes the game starts exhibiting extreme input lag (most notable on the left joystick)
Since this is a top down movement game, the input delay on the joystick makes the game unplayable (it's around 2-3s of delay)
Reproduction
Launch the game and play for a few minutes, once you unlock free movement (around 1m into the game), you'll notice that if you move there's extreme delay in the input making your character impossible to control

This issue has been noticed several times by other users directly on protonDB over the last few years.
Solution
Swapping the proton launch version to 6.3.8 resolves the issue entirely, selecting other newer versions have the same issue as the current 9x branch.
I'm not sure why this is, but this was the only way I could get this game to work
