Symptoms

The issue is that, while the game does run, there's little to no light bouncing around. Basically, any light sources will shine on the first thing they hit, and stop there. Attached is an in-game screenshot from The Complex FF. Importantly, all UI elements look perfectly normal.

This problem also happens with other similar games, such as the Liminal Shift demo.

Reproduction

Start The Complex FF; the main menu is pretty dark. Click "Insert Tape" to start the game; the in-game environment is also very dark.
