Symptoms

When trying to run the game nothing happens. Steam says launching then running for a second and then stops.

I believe the patch 1.05 to the game broke it with proton. The game worked without issues before for me the last time I played it on 27/4 2025. The patch 1.05 was released 29/4.

Reproduction

Launch the game, observe that Steam says it is running the game for a second but nothing happens and then the game stops running.

I tried both experimental and bleeding edge, and also tried SteamDeck=1 %command%

After further testing I noticed that everytime verifying the games files, Steam says there are a couple of files that failed to verify and would be downloaded. However no files were ever actually redownloaded, no matter how many times I verified the files.

So I uninstalled the game and deleted all left over files manually, and then completely downloaded and reinstalled the game, and after that the game is working again. So I'm closing this issue, as it seems to have been some corrupt file causing it.
