On attempting to launch the game from a fresh install, the game boots, then loads up to the title screen. When you press any button to progress to the next screen, the game freezes.
On subsequent runs of the game, it hangs at the promotional logo for the developer of the game, Secret Door.
Sometimes, when I changed Proton versions, it allowed me to get back to the title screen.
ProtonDB seems to echo this sentiment, but their fix is to disconnect from every network or network interface that isn't your main ethernet connection.
Reproduction
Spin up a VM. Ideally, use a save state, as the game progresses furthest on a fresh install
Set up another network interface. A mobile hotspot should be easiest, with Docker next in ideas I'd have while trying to repro this issue.
Install Steam and Sunderfolk, then launch the game with any Proton version.
