Symptoms

When running Smite 2 with native Vulkan using Proton Experimental or 9.04, the game runs fine, but upon exit I get the following error from winevulkan. Starting with DX11 & DX12 do not throw this error.

Reproduction

  1. Launch Smite 2 with Vulkan (Smite 2 -> Properties -> Select Launch Option -> Play with Vulkan )
  2. Exit the game
  3. Check logs / get error – assertion failure in winevulkan appears
