I googled it, went through ProtonDB, Steam discussions, Steam guides, and found absolutely nothing that could be even helpful in getting this to work. I found a comment that suggested the problem is the DRM, which could be true, but the DRM should still be able to work with Proton if Proton is properly mimicking a Win environment.

I tried all different versions of Proton, all kinds of different combos of Proton versions and launch flags, switched the "Windows Version" in winecfg from Vista to WinXP, but nothing could get it to actually put something on the screen. It starts, hangs around for a minute, then closes.

If anybody is looking for a way to improve Proton, this could be a great option since this is a long standing issue that nobody has found a solution to.
