Some time ago, my games stopped launching on any version of Proton higher than 7. After a while, the games started launching on the experimental version, but not on the hotfix. After some more time, they stopped launching on the experimental version, but started launching on the hotfix. This weekend, games stopped launching again on any version of Proton higher than seven. Right after today's update, I saw the old one again. There are two possible reasons for this: either it is intentional (stimulating consumer demand precisely on weekends), or someone's qualifications are insufficient.

Of course, my video card supports D3D11. Cards that don't support it are probably no longer available.Thank you very much for ruining my weekend, and perhaps a series of weekends.

Hello @safetyF1rst, this is a non-constructive way to seek help, primarily because you've chosen to not include any technical details for anyone to help troubleshoot.

Please add PROTON_LOG=1 %command% to the launch options of a couple affected games and attach the generated $HOME/steam-$APPID.log to this issue report as a file. (Proton logs compress well if needed.) Also, please copy the contents of Steam Runtime Diagnostics from Steam (Steam -> Help -> Steam Runtime Diagnostics) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.

Where did I say I was looking for help? As a consumer, I need to find an alternative that may be better than the one that ruined my weekend, and I don't need any help with that, and it may not have anything to do with games. However, I pointed out the fact (when, what, the history of the problem, possible causes) that the business you are part of needs help, and it is the only one that needs help, professional help.

Just think about it: you fixed the error, and then you went back to it, most likely because you fixed it by accident.

I had to write that.

Fedora, like most others (but I can't say for sure), only has version 25.1.9 available. However, now I understand the nature of the problem, and most importantly, I know that this problem will come back to haunt me again and again.
