I am experiencing an issue running Warhammer: Vermintide 2 on Linux using Steam Play with Proton Experimental. The game fails to launch due to Easy Anti-Cheat, showing an error message about "corrupted files" even though the installation is correct. It seems the game is not currently whitelisted for Linux/Proton.
Steps to reproduce:
Install Vermintide 2 via Steam on Linux (Nobara 42, KDE Plasma).
Enable Steam Play with Proton Experimental.
Launch the game.
The game fails to start, displaying a "corrupted files" message from Easy Anti-Cheat.
Expected behavior:
The game should launch successfully with Easy Anti-Cheat enabled.
System information:
Distribution: Nobara Linux 42 (64-bit)
Desktop environment: KDE Plasma 6.4.4
Kernel: 6.16.4-201.nobara.fc42.x86_64
CPU: Intel Core i5-14400F (16 threads)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB
Driver: NVIDIA 580.95.05
Steam version: 1.0.0.83-4.fc42.i686
Proton version: Proton Experimental
Game ID: 552500 (Steam)
Additional information:
The game works on Windows without issues.
I understand that official support for Nobara Linux is not provided, but I would like to submit this issue so that future Proton updates may include support or a workaround for Easy Anti-Cheat.
Any guidance or testing suggestions are welcome.
Logs / Output (optional):
If possible, I can provide Steam logs (~/steam.log) showing Easy Anti-Cheat messages.
