Hello Valve team,

Thanks to Proton and Steam Deck, Linux gaming has improved dramatically.
Today, anti-cheat systems like EAC and BattlEye can already work on Linux through Proton.
However, many game developers are not aware of this.

Most developers still think that “adding Linux support” is difficult, but in reality, it only takes a few simple steps to enable Linux compatibility for anti-cheat.

A small awareness campaign for developers (for example, a short blog post, video, or Steamworks email) would help a lot.

The message can be simple:
“You don’t need to port your game to Linux — just enable anti-cheat support!”

This would benefit both Steam Deck users and desktop Linux players.
The community is ready and waiting.

Best regards,
Tuncor

Hello @Tuncor, this was fairly clearly communicated by those anti-cheat vendors when the capability was added by them.

This is a request for a Proton-adjacent non-public service announcement, which has drifted a bit outside of scope of this issue tracker and the Proton project itself. While I can see the intent of your request, this is better handled on a per game and game developer basis.

Nothing extracted yet.
