Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: Infinity Nikki
  • Steam AppID of the game: 3164330

System Information

I confirm:

  • [x] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • [x] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

The game launcher starts. If you click on play, the game instantly exits. With Proton GE the game starts, but crashes after less than one minute. Sporadically an EAC warning appears, but only with GE (the logs for GE are 30MB big, therefore I didn't upload them for now).

The game worked a few months before, but only with GE. It never worked with Proton Experimental. I tried several fixes mentioned on ProtonDB to, but without success.

Reproduction

Download and start the game without tinkering. The game launcher appears, then click on "Play". The game instantly exits.

The game launcher starts successful:

I tried with both GNOME 49 on Fedora Linux 43.20251122.0 (Silverblue) as well as KDE Plasma 6.4.5.

Hello @faelau, wine: Unimplemented function ntoskrnl.exe.KeAcquireGuardedMutex called at address 00006FFFFFF96EE0 (thread 0450), starting debugger... looks like the line of interest from your Proton log.

Just play with Proton-GE or SteamDeck. Paper have blocked non-SteamDeck Linux devices

The game doesn't start on any version of Proton based on Proton 11, including the beta and Experimental.

@TiZ-HugLife Hi there and thank you for the report.
Can I get you to a attach a Proton log? Just launch it with PROTON_LOG=1 %command% in the games Steam launch options and a log called steam-3164330.log should appear in your users home folder. It compresses well if needed.
