Still happens even with the latest Proton Experimental. Tried both Hotfix and the Steam default (compat customization off). All seem to have the same crash. In the mean time I have played other games for multiple hours on the same device with no problems so Its 100% an interaction with this specific game. No new info on the logs other than the ones already provided. Tried to export engine logs too but the engine just freezes and crashes without user accessible logs that can help.
Updated to latest proton. Also used the max tpd mode just in case its a weird interaction with tdp limits but still happens.

The game crashes and I cant even open the steam overlay.
I have to put the Ally X to sleep and after it success in the sleep I have to wake it up and only then I can use the steam overlay. Game music still runs in the background but game is crashed ofc.

Symptoms
While playing regardless of load ( might be on the hero selection might be during gameplay. I get a gpu crash. It looks like a weird interaction with proton and the egnine. Screen goes black and then returns with the game img frozen. music keeps playing. its obvious the gpu driver crashes. I am forced to either put the system to sleep so the steam overlay start working after waking it up and killing the game from there OR I have to fully force shutdown the system.

Reproduction
I cant reliably reproduce so I dont think its a system logic error but a snag the engine hits with the amd drivers or proton. I have run multiple stability tests and I dont get a crash on other games. I have used extreme profiles of OCCT cpu+3d under both the max TDP and performance TDP modes to verify system stability.
