  2. Launch game, wait for it to load to the main menu
  3. Observe mangled audio and extra window
  4. Load into game, any gamemode
  5. Zoom all the way out

I've observed similar behaviors with audio issues on my desktop (9900X / RX 6700XT, Debian Testing). I can include logs from there if that seems like it would be useful, but since this issue can be trivially reproduced on a Steam Deck w/ SteamOS, that seems like it would be a better place to aim for correct functionality first as it limits hardware / software configuration problems which could be on my end.

Hello @CarbonNotes, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/5698#issuecomment-3602236360.

All good! I had searched for it last night in the issue tracker and I was only finding the issues for Classic, 1 + 2, and Platinum. Now 5698 is showing up when I'm searching so I've got no idea why I didn't see it before. (Maybe it was staring at me and I just completely missed it.)
