For further evidence, Yakuza Kiwami 2 seems to be running fine on Windows according to reports from other users in the Yakuza Modding Community discord, but with Proton Experimental on Linux the game slows down too much, especially if trying to play with native resolution rather than upscalers. This happens only when switching from an upscaler to native resolution both in the Main Menu and ingame
Switching to any upscalers makes the game further lag out until leaving the game.
If someone can help, I'll try and answer as much as I can.
A similar problem.
I'm using CachyOs with its proton and kernal kernel.
OS: CachyOS x86_64
Kernel: Linux 6.18.0-1-cachyos-bore-lto
Display (XMIA004): 2560x1080 in 29", 165 Hz [External]
DE: KDE Plasma 6.5.4
WM: KWin (Wayland)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (12) @ 5.75 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT [Discrete]
Same issue on Steam Deck OLED, TAA is glitchy and unusable
If I'm understanding things right, the game gets stuck with the lowest performing settings of the session. So if you swap from native to an upscaler, which should increase your framerate, you end up with the same performance as if you were using native settings, correct?
I checked on my desktop with a 9070 with arch, and on steam deck with steamos 3.7.20 with both proton 10 and experimental, and framerate always changes to reflect settings. I can continuously swap between native and fsr 3 in the cemetery and framerate will reflect the change

I confirm:
Symptoms
FPS drop when changing graphical settings, especially on the "performance options".
Changing the upscalers lead to worse performance, no matter which they are
Setting TAA leads to visual glitches such as overly bright lights and skies.
