SSUE
The Witcher 3 (but other suspect as well, like Darktide) randomly freeze with repeated message "err:winevulkan:signaller_worker wait timed out with non-empty poll list"
Steam client is frozen as well. ALT+TABBing to another window does work, closing the game with System Monitor brings client back to control.
Checks in GPU usage with LACT just show a sudden drop to 0% in GPU utilization when game freezes; up to that point utilization, speed, temps and voltages are in the legit ranges, as per attachment.
No other relevant logs available.
No overlclock or undervolt applied.
Behavior has been observed with different Proton versions, both from Valve (default and 9.0.4) and GE (10.24 and 10.26).
Reproduced with and without environment variables (like "gamemoderun" or "LD_PRELOAD="" ")
Older games like Grim Dawn or lightweight ones like Demeo seems not affected.
Personal consideration: I wonder if the recently implemented NTSYNC driver has something to do with it.
HW SPECS:
MB ASUS B650 PLUS
AMD RYZEN 9 7900x
32 GB DDR 5200 KINGSTON
RADEON RX 9070XT
1x 2TB NVME
1x 2TB SDD
PSU ENERMAX REVOLUTION III 850W 80+ CERTIFIED
PC is attached to a 1200VA UPS
Note: with Darktide, the behavior has been observed also by using an HP Omen Laptop equipped with Intel Core i9-14900HX, 32GB RAM DDR5, 1TB SSD PCIe NVMe, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 8GB GDDR6
OS
tested both in Fedora 42, Fedora 43 and Debian 13
