Games fails to start. I have tried various settings from the ProtonDB but nothing works.

The game's trying to run on your iGPU using mesa, but is failing because mesa currently can not render to a gui session running on the NVIDIA proprietary driver. DRI_PRIME=pci-0000_13_00_0 at https://gist.github.com/JoveToo/6fc5de394e94b2106f01eb4e57466f97#file-gistfile1-txt-L1721 seems like a hint. If you completely close Steam, then run steam from a terminal, does that have an effect?

Hi @kisak-valve, thanks! If I run steam from the terminal everything works fine!

Is there a way I can configure steam to never use the iGPU? It doesn't even have a monitor attached.

That implies that it's the desktop environment listening to PrefersNonDefaultGPU=true in Steam's desktop shortcut and setting DRI_PRIME.

I had some trouble identifying the right Steam.desktop but it indeed contained PrefersNonDefaultGPU=true. Removing that and rebooting solves the issue.
