Proton version: Experimental, also tried with 9, 8 and proton-ge 10.26, 10.27

Symptoms
Two days ago I tried to play and worked fine with Experimental, but notice there was missing music and video in the main menu and I tried a guide to fix the issue using proton-ge 10.26 (and later 10.27). After that, I've been unable to join a multiplayer server or people join mine.
Every time I try to join any server or I host a game and people try to join, game freezes. Steam client crashes and then the game closes.
Reproduction
I've tried to get back to the previous working scenario a thousand times, but can't get it back to work. Here's my current reproduction steps:
1.- Deleted compatdata 244850 folder
2.- Uninstalled the game from Steam Library UI.
3.- Rebooted computer (you know, that's a good trick always)
4.- Installed Space Engineers again
5.- Checked the compatibility version (Here I have tried with Experiental, Proton 9, Proton 8, and Proton-GE versions, each time repating all the steps on this list)
6.- Started the game (takes a while the first time after reinstalling)
7.- Try to Join an official game server, loading icon begins to spin, after a few seconds or if press cancel, steam client crashes and then the game closes. Alternative, Quick start a game, save it and load it opening for a friend, the instant he joins and I see the "User connected" text in the screen, game freezes, steam crashes, game closes.

I've already tried for hours anything I found and also opening a ticket on steam (which led me here) and asking support in Space Engineers Discord, but nothing has worked so far. One thing that had me thinking on the last try its that despite each time I delete the compatdata folder I loose saved games, When clicking Join, the history of the last servers I tried to join is still there. Maybe there's somewhere else to delete game-related files?
