Having written that, I'm finding it hard to see the value of trying to run a Windows desktop environment customization tool on other desktop environments.

Recently I installed SteamOS (Proton 10.0-3) and then Start11 v2. Short after, I needed to format again, but now Start11 ask a key (wich it shouldn't on Steam). There is a way to tell my Steam account that this installment no longer exist? Thank you!
