Symptoms

This game works fine with flatscreen, but I was not able to launch it in VR via steam. This is one of the few remaining VR games that just would not work on linux. But a solution has been found - and maybe it's obvious what the issue is.

Reproduction

Try to launch the game in VR via any method on linux (alvr, steamvr, wivrn, monada) - will fail with 32bit mismatch errors in logs. Game will open on monitor instead.

From other bug reports we suspect this is a similar 32bit openxr problem - so we try the same solution. Using 32bit wivrn and 32bit xrizer - and a new version of xrizer with added features that this game wants - then finally it works.

Please see other github issues for full details on how to get this working:

https://github.com/WiVRn/WiVRn/issues/729

I'm not sure if this technically counts as a bug in proton? Maybe it's a bug in steamvr instead? In my case I got it working by adding certain 64/32bit binaries to my proton experimental 64/32 folder. Might be an easy fix for Valve - steamvr needs to have 32bit support for games like this.
