Symptoms

On my 1920x1200 screen (Eizo EV-2456)
The game window is either shifted either incomplete at bottom in fullscreen and bordeless modes.
Windowed mode make the game buggily overflows borders.
This doesn't happen with proton 9.0-4.

Reproduction

Start the game, set full screen or bordeless 1920x1200, or set windowed mode in a lower one.
Quit the game
Start the game

Note : There are also quite frequent soft locks and crashes with proton 10+ but I haven't played enough with proton 9 to make a report.

@Kawazu0 What window manager are you using? I can't tell from your provided information. Also - is the problem fixed if you change the resolution on your monitor to a 16:9 aspect ratio, like 1920x1080?

I'm using Cinnamon, 6.4.10. (Debian + backport + proprietary NVidia stable driver instead of Debian packages).

Switched to 1920x1080 and got this :

in windowed mode, I have this :

I played or let the game run for more than 4 hours yesterday without problem. (proton 9.0-4). Note that everything works fine under Windows 10 and the "quite frequent soft locks and crashes" (UE5 error dialog) I quoted also disappeared completely with proton 9 (only the video with the plane at start doesn't play).

I have a nvidia laptop with a 1920x1200 screen, I tried with proton experimental, nvidia 590.48 and 595.58, plasma wayland and cinnamon and couldn't repro this issue.

Thanks !

Kernel 6.19-8 with 595.58 today (kernel backport updated today),

I'm using Cinnamon-X11 and you gave me an idea I didn't try : your WMs. You tried KDE and Cinnamon. So I doubt you change their default behavior and commonly used settings which is "taskbar at bottom". Mine is on top.
I put it at bottom and some issues disappeared.

  • Starting Fullscreen, Windowed fullscreen, Windowed (1080p) are ok.
  • Switching to Windowed mode gives me second screenshot. If I switch desktop (I activated 2), glitch disappears as long as I don't move the window.
  • This obviously doesn't happen with proton 9.

@Kawazu0 tried moving the taskbar to the top and didn't really see any difference
