I feel this is not the right channel to ask this, but i couldn't find an official forum or subreddit to ask, so...
I am interested in getting involved in the Proton project, because i want to see gaming come to Linux and finally be able to ditch Windows as my desktop OS.
I am a 42 years old gamer, Computer Science engineer, specialized in QA. The last few years i've been working as a Test Manager in big SAFe projects. I have always been a geek and through my personal curiosity and my studies i have general idea about most things "IT". The accent here being on GENERAL. I have no work experience with development, last time i've seriously touched code was during my university years, about 15 years ago. I've dabbled a bit in Python on my own, out of curiosity but that's about it. As i've said, all my career is built around QA, testing, risk management, quality, and lately people management...
Now, lately i've been pretty bored at work and while waiting for a new opportunity to arise i'd love to somehow get involved in this project. I am not sure what i could do really, with my skill set, but i am curious and willing to learn things instead of idling on YT.
Can anyone suggest me where to start? What's there that needs doing? Is there a testing/QA community that might need help, for example? Is there a "simple" way to start learning code around this? Any other ideas?
Cheers!
